Commitment Requirements
Welcome Parents to the Concord Little League, we are excited to have you joining us this season!
Many new parents come into our league each year with basic questions from baseball gear to what time commitments are expected of our players. For some this can be overwhelming and we are here to help you navigate these new experiences with you!
Commitment Requires
This is a great question for many new parents & players, and the best answer is it varies based on age.
T-Ball & Coach Pitch this age division will typically have 1-2 games a week.
Usually one week day evening and/or a Saturday morning, and these games last 1 hour.
At this age we find players don't have very long attention span & we tailor things down to meet the players needs. With this in mind once game season starts most coaches choose NOT to have practice and they use the game times as a fun learning time. It's very important at this age to develop the social aspect of the game and to have fun. However, before seasonal games start, coaches may choose to take this time to meet the players once or twice a week for introductions, and to let players familiarize themselves with teammates and coaches. These pre-season practices usually run between 30 minutes to an hour.
Machine Pitch this age division will typically have 1-2 games a week.
Usually one week day evening and/or a Saturday morning, and these games last 1 hour.
At this age players are now familiar with baseball basics and we start to expand on the game by teaching more technical terms. With more technique comes the need for more practices. Coaches at this age division may decide to hold 1-2 practices during the week to teach skills to players that cant not be taught during game time. Practices typically run between 1-2 hours. This is also the division that our tournament games start in. So after regular season games plan one an extra week or two of tournament games, those schedules are usually released once we are coming to the end of our regular season.
Minors & Up - this age division will typically have 2-3 games a week.
Usually 1-2 week day(s) evening and/or a Saturday morning, and these games last 2+ hours.
Best advise for these upper divisions it to contact division directors or coaches. Practices often vary based on division and coaches needs.
